Yoshi's safe haven has many programs to offer from foster care to rescue,even help with behavior issues if your parrot or bird are having a tough times.we also have a few other programs that some other rescue do not have like ( say you are loosing your home or apartment due to eviction or foreclosure and need a safe place for your parrot or bird to stay for a few weeks until you can get back on your feet then YOSHI'S SAFE HAVEN'S
NO PARROT OR BIRD left behind program would be good for your pet . because they would be right here waiting for your return to them .
Sometimes people need to rehome their bird because they bought it without understanding how much time and care the bird needs. Others need to rehome their birds because of allergies or other health problems. Still others that find that their life circumstances have changed and they no longer have the time to give to the bird, or small parrot
all parrots and birds that are brought in to the rescue are quarantined for 30 day and in that time . They are seen an avian vet, for a check up and evaluation . and if any very young parrots and birds t are brought in too the rescue before they are weened will be vaccinated for psittimune Apv avian polymavirus. Also, birds surrendered to us are evaluated for behavior and should behavior issues be found, we work with the birds to rehabilitate them to the point that they will make good pets. After this, we seek to adopt out our birds to forever homes, to people who demonstrate the ability to provide for the specific needs of a bird. Obviously, adoption is not possible for all birds placed in our care, since some have come from such abusive environments that they will always need the structured environment that Yoshi’s Safe Haven provides.
Please remember, birds have feelings and very special needs. If you know deep down that you really ought to give your bird up to provide a better home for it, don’t wait. Do your homework; not every animal shelter is equipped to deal with parrots and small birds. In addition to Yoshi’s there are some good bird sanctuary/ rescues. Don’t trust your bird to brokers, hoarders, or bunchers anyone that might not have the best interests of your bird at heart. To help you with the decision to surrender your bird, Yoshi’s has references that will be furnished upon request
for adoption forms and avalibilty or parrots or bird or looking to surrender your unwanted parrot or bird.
